Saturday morning we began the first leg of our two day loop from Eagles Roost. We traveled west on the Rattlesnake trail then north on the Burkhart Trail and to Burkhart saddle and then to the top of Pallett Mountain for a total of about 7.7 miles and 3000 feet in altitude change.
Of course we stopped for a chill and a thrill in the ice cold water for a while on the way. And a short detour to look at a beautiful waterfall.
We camped on top of Pallett Mountain, an altitude of approximately 7760 feet.
Sunday morning me made a not so speedy start and hiked to the peak of Mount Williamson via the Pleasant View Ridge and finished the second 5.8 mile leg back to Eagles Roost. Due to snow blocking the trail in several places we encountered some challenging 3rd class hiking conditions.
